Grounded

Here’s a recent shoot I did with local/organic/in season produce, excluding the dragon fruit of course. I decided to shoot it because it’s such a cool looking fruit inside and out. These were bought from the Saturday organic market (again, minus the dragon fruit) around the corner. I wanted the images to feel like they were photographed underground ready to be harvested and the light to feel like it was piercing through the ground. Although the cross sectioned images on the right look as if the light is emanating from the vegetables/fruits.

I did eat every thing after, so no waste.

Keukenhof – Pictures of people taking pictures of other people/flowers

Tulips everywhere. Oh my! If you know me, then you might know I’m not that big into flowers. So when my girlfriend asked me if I wanted to go to the biggest flower festival in Holland, I said “Yay!” and “Woopie!” because I love her. Anyhow, it took us over an hour just to get on the shuttle bus. Line after line and so many people you could have mistaken it for a sardine factory, we finally made it there. I mostly took photos of all the tourists taking photos of flowers. They were the most interesting subjects of my day. “Flowers. YAY!”

Leaves

Every spring, Amsterdam is covered with little golden seed leaves from the local Elm trees. They make the city even more dreamy and wonderful as they fly around in the wind.

Here’s a short video I made dedicated to these seed/leaves.

Some more dead plants

My girlfriend loves flowers. Tries to get new ones every week at the market around the corner. My only responsibility seems to have failed… sorry chili plant. I blame the harsh cold winter…

My Dead Plants

Here’s a series that will probably be ongoing. It depends if my girlfriend can handle the overly dead flowers/plants sitting around the house until I actually photograph them.

Yes, honey. I’ll throw them out.
