Tremblant

For this month’s cover of re:Porter for Porter Airlines, I was assigned to shoot a story about Mont Tremblant ski resort. It’s the biggest ski resort in the Montreal area.

I hadn’t snowboarded or skied in over 3 years before this assignment. Luckily my assistant was great on his skis so he happily lugged my camera bag. It felt weird to be back on my board but it all came back to me after a few minutes!

Alcatraz

On my recent trip to San Francisco, I decided to do the tourist thing and head over to Alcatraz Island. This old prison island has always been one of the places I wanted to go to. I love abandoned old buildings. Although they have converted this island to a natural reserve and a bit of a tourist attraction, it’s still pretty amazing the history behind this prison.

Northern California – Part 3 – San Francisco

This was my first time to San Francisco. I’ve always heard great things about this city and have always wanted to visit. I can honestly say now, if there was one big city I’d like to permanently live in (the U.S.) it would have to be San Francisco. Great weather, scenery, food, transportation and really nice people. What’s not to like? Here is me being touristy in SF. I’ll definitely be back again.

Northern California – Part 2 – The Coast, Mendocino and Muir Woods Forest

Mendocino is a small town along the coast a few hours north of San Francisco. Muir Woods is a natural reserve park is an amazing place to hike. Northern California is, in my experience, the prettiest place I’ve visited in the United States.

Northern California – Part 1 – Monterey, Sonoma and Napa

So finally the wedding has come and gone and now it’s time to hunker down and start working again. But first, here are images from my recent trip to northern California (in 3 parts). Enjoy!

WSJ Video featuring my photos

Here’s a video featuring my images with the WSJ: Wall Street Journal Video!

Wall Street Journal – Quebec City

Yes. It’s been a while since I last posted. Sorry everyone and especially to all the folks that follow. I’m getting married in a couple months and that pretty much takes away most of my personal time! I have new found energy and will be posting at least once a week if not more! Stay tuned!

Here’s a recent shoot I did for the Wall Street Journal! I was excited to shoot for such a prestigious newspaper. The story is in their weekend section titled “Off Duty”. The shoot helped me rediscover Quebec City again! It’s definitely a beautiful city! Enjoy!

rePorter – Windsor

Porter’s inflight magazine, rePorter, sent me to Windsor for a couple of days to shoot their neighbourhood section for Issue 19. Windsor is tiny but there are some great places to eat and drink. One of the highlights for me was whiskey tasting (see below) at the Canadian Club museum. During the years of the prohibition, famous gangster, Al Capone smuggled thousands of cases from Windsor into Detroit.

Good thing the Canadian Club Museum was the last place to shoot that day. I don’t even think autofocus would have helped me! Yes. I’m a lightweight drinker.

Marseille

The second largest city in France, Marseille is a bustling port town on the Mediterranean Sea. I’ve heard people complain about Marseille but I actually found it pleasant. People were friendly and weather was, like the rest of southern France this time of year, amazing!

Le Var

Le Var is in the south-eastern tip of France. Filled with good produce which in turn makes for great food and wine. Incredible Mediterranean climate helps as well. 😉
